The incident occurred Saturday, Nov. 9, around 1 p.m. in Oceanside, at 3458 Long Beach Road.

The 28-year-old woman was attempting to back her 2011 Jeep out of a parking space when the man driving a 2019 Nissan, identified as 41-year-old John Ardolino, of South Hempstead, began honking, then parked behind her, blocking her from leaving, Nassau County Police said.

Police say Ardolino exited his vehicle, banged on the driver’s side window, and yelled at the woman.

He allegedly opened her door, grabbed her arm, and attempted to punch her before returning to his vehicle.

When the woman got out to photograph his license plate, Ardolino allegedly drove forward, striking her and forcing her onto the hood of his car. Police report that he continued driving, eventually throwing her off.

The victim, who suffered neck and back pain, was taken to a nearby hospital for evaluation and treatment.

Ardolino has been charged with:

  • Assault in the second degree
  • Reckless endangerment in the second degree
  • Menacing in the third degree
  • Leaving the scene of an incident

He was scheduled for arraignment on Sunday, Nov. 10, at First District Court in Hempstead.
